.PDB crash

Hi, my friend has this error when he tries to start the game, no idea why.

It is a legit copy, got it from gamersgate a few years back.

the error he gets is something like "Call stack state after crash" some memory stuff and then it says ".PBD file missed of stack failed."

Thanks for any help.

Its probably some file error. I need more details before I can suggest a fix.
1) OS and whether 64 bit or 32 bit
2) Whether Patched, Unpatched or modded
3) Whether reinstall was tried or not

1) OS for him is 64 bit windows

2) He tried unpatched, he gets the no text and weird visuals on start up (AGP error), so he had to patch and then he got this.

3) Not sure, I'll see if I can get him to do that.

Tried 1 and I think we tried 4. 2 is not applicable cause my friend is an idiot, can give 3 a shot though.

Try a reinstall and then see if it fixes the crash first, then try anything else... smile

Its a real shame this game wasn't supported. It's a real gem, even considering all the bugs.

I know. But some of us can also support this, I mean although not officially or monetarily but in our own ways, when we play the game and attempts at improving our of experiences we are doing a support in our own part. Which is why most game devs thank the people playing their games biggrin But yeah, its a shame its official support is gone sad

I found the fix. Just go to whereevery the game is installed. If by steam, the folder is at \Steam\steamapps\common - Heroes of Annihilated Empires. => Go find the 'engine' Application. => Right click it. => Properties => Compatibility => Check 'Run this program in compatibility mode for: => Choose: Windoes XP (Service Pack 3). => Run the game by clicking 'Play' in steam. Or if not installed from steam => Run the 'engine' Application.
