How does the computer build soooo fast?!?!?

| When playing skirmish modes I don't understand how the computer builds a city and troops so fast. Even with difficulty on easy they have a full city and army extremely fast. I don't stand a chance. I even tried the cheat codes and I still get pwnd.

The AI has more APM value than a normal human. I should tone it down and make it more enjoyable...Its a some work though.
