Hi
I got some questions regarding the map editor...
in some missions there's stuff that is placed outside the area that you can acess... like in mission 6 there's a bow located at the upper right corner.
I replaced those red locks with green ones saved & load my savegame.... but still can't acess the area... also the ground turned invisible...do I have to restart the whole mission for it to take full effect ?
I assumed it would be easier to simple move that object closer to the food trees so I can get that bow but.... I have no idea how I can move it lol....
the basic editor guide gives no useful information about that....and the advance guide shows a black screen dry

I also saw that there are some normal maps in the texture folder.... can I assign custom normal maps to an object inside the editor ?

also is it possible to use the map editor without your mod ?

You can use the map editor without the mod. I use the map editor with my mod ^^

how ? when i ctrl click on the A from the main menu loading screen appears but nothing happens...

Hello

- Those might be stuff that could "Teleport" to some accessible area during the course of the game, if they are grouped i.e, they have this blue tagging
- The viewable area of the map is programmed either by script or by map options - you need to program the viewable area to be able to access it in-game
- I didn't complete the Advanced editor...lol biggrin

You can use the Map Editor without the mod, however the Normal bump mapping of Ground textures will be different for the Vanilla version of the game

If you have doubts, do ask! That Editor is a very powerful tool in skilled hands smile

EDIT: The loading screen would go away sometimes if you wait a bit...

ok so its not possible to simply move something thats already placed somewhere else in the editor...?
so how can i assign an normal map with the ground texture or with a custom model.

With custom model? You need to do a model in 3ds max 6/7 and export it to the game.
For ground texture it can be done by using the Ctrl+E and then using F hotkey (using this in mod is much more worth it)

Its possible to move buildings in the Editor using Arrow keys or "Shift + ArrowKeys"

anybody know why with the vanilla editor the gamespeed setting for Story/Skirmish keeps resetting itself ?

I think this is configured in Settings.xml or EngineSettings.xml (You need gsc extractor to access this file or you need to use "Ctrl+E" then use "Space Key") I am not very sure which

Is draw bump enabled in your Graphics Settings for the game? or it could be a shader issue - its fine with my version however. Also how did you went around putting it? You did use a Normal Map right?

These screenshots all use Bumped Textures

(The Cave wall and the frost where the golem stands)


(The Wet rocks - pic is a bit ugly because the waterfall and river effects are under development)


(Most lava textures in the volcano are bumped, if you can spot them...)
